GOING BLONDE?!

The process of going blonde can be so difficult, I definitely have experience going from black to blonde. If you are like me and are indecisive about your hair but are in the mood for some blonde then here are a few of my tips and tricks!

Disclaimer: I am NOT a professional hair dresser, these are just my own experiences with my own hair.

If you are going blonde from a dark brown or black hair color here are a few things you should be prepared for:

- The process is a very long one, might take about a month or two to be fully satisfied with the color.

- Cut a few inches off the length of your hair because anytime you go really light the damage is more noticeable.

- Get a really good deep repair mask! your hair will need it.

- Your hair might have some orange tones - get a purple shampoo to remove brassiness

- Bleach is your friend and your enemy: bleach will give you the right tone of blonde if you are into going pale blonde or multi dimensional blonde however if you feel your hair isn't strong enough to handle the chemical then opt for some bleached highlights instead. It will still leave you with some damage but it wont be as bad as bleaching all of your hair.

Due to the fact that I am unwilling to chop my hair off again, I refuse to put too much bleach in my hair at one time so it's going to take me some time to get to the way it looks in the left photo.

during the week later process my hair did get a lot lighter as you will see in blog posts to come...
