December has been flying by! I was very busy last week but I did get the chance to pop in on the Club Monaco event and I got to take a look at their newest items, chat amongst friends and grab a treat. It ended up getting a little too crowded for my liking so I left a bit early but just wanted to share a few of the photos I took. I didn't get a chance to meet with Emily Schuman from cupcakesandcashmere.com because by the time I left she still hadn't appeared but I did get a peek on some of her picks from the store and I now have a wish list of things to purchase from Club Monaco.

BTW: The wall of vintage mirrors is stunning! I would love to recreate that look in my bedroom... off to hunt for some mirrors.

THE OVERSIZED COAT

As a New Yorker -- we tend to buy tons and tons of coats. Our winters are brutal so you don't want to be caught with the same coat too many times. I need options so when I saw this one I knew I had to pick it up, I also waited for it to go on sale and I got it for about $40 - score!

Oversized coats are a huge trend this season, as well as the checkered print. I am obsessed with both! This new coat trend will flatter most body types as it hides your figure. I am very petite and I even found one that was just right on me. It has structure in all the right places, especially because its double-breasted. I like to scrunch up the sleeves a bit for a laid back look. I paired it with my new over the knee boots and some basic grey and white pieces, so that the coat can shine.
